The 24th World Boxing Organization (WBO) Annual Convention starts this week in Puerto Rico with the presence of great boxing personalities. The traditional WBO Convention will take place at the Ritz Carlton Hotel located in Isla Verde, Carolina.
WBO President, Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel, reported that tomorrow, Tuesday, October 25, in the Convention be held the Executive Committee General Assembly with the President’s Report from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Then, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the General Assembly continue with the Regional Vice-Presidents Reports (NABO, WBO Int, WBO Asia Pacific, WBO Latino, WBO Europe, WBO Africa and WBO China), the Championships and Ratings Committee Reports and Grievance Committee Report.
While, Wednesday, October 26, there will be the General Assembly-Executive Committee Second Session from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Then, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., there will be the Trainers, Offcials and Supervisors Seminars lead by Emanuel Steward (trainers), Gino Rodriguez (referees), Nelson Vazquez (judges) and John Duggan (supervisors). The chairwoman of the New York State Athletic Commission, Melvina Lathan, will be the specual guest speaker.
On Thursday, October 27, will be the Championship and Ratings Committee Metings from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the General Assembly and Executive Committee Closure.
There will another activities, including the boxing card, Saturday, October 29, with former world champions Ivan “Iron Boy” Calderon and Wilfredo Vazquez Jr., and current world female champion from Argentina, Yessica Yolanda Bopp, among others.
As always, in the Convention is expected the presence of some of the WBO Champions, former Champions, other boxers, known trainers, managers, promoters, officials, and other political, social and cultural personalities.
