WBO cruiserweight champion Marko Huck (28-1, 21 KOs) proved his strength once again with the third-round TKO over spirited but also limited ex-heavyweight Adam Richards (23-3, 15 KOs). Richards proved he was no pushover by bringing the heat towards Huck in the opening round. Not that WBO #14 rated challenger was effective but he was at least active and forced Huck into defensive shell for the biggest part of the round. However, he mostly missed and his blows didn’t aim at specific targets but were dispersed into space instead. Huck scored several times at the end of the round, which was Richards’ beforehand. Huck did a better job stopping aggressive American in the second and he also gave him several scary moments in the midst of the round with his left hooks. In round three, Richards ran into Huck’s fire again and was caught several times. Finally, Huck landed a flash right and pushed Richards down which was somewhat surprisingly ruled a knockdown by referee Marc Nelson. The American was also badly cut on the back of his head. Richards continued his assault but Huck first cornered him with short left hooks and then badly beat him with hooks and swings, failing to miss any of them. Richards was on his way down, when referee Nelson jumped in and fell hard simultaneously with the American while waving the contest off at 2:30 of the third.
