In an important WBO cruiserweight eliminator, #1 rated Denis Lebedev (21-0, 16 KOs) scored an explosive second round KO over #2 rated Alexander Alexeev (19-2, 17 KOs) on Saturday night at the Sport- Und Kongresshall in Schwerin, Germany.
After taking the fight to Alekseev in round one, the aggressive Lebedev connected with a crushing straight left that finished Alekseev. The 2008 Olympic heavyweight gold medalist was extremely disoriented as he struggled to get back on his feet. Time was 2:32. Lebedev is now mandatory challenger for WBO champion Marco Huck.
