WBO President Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel visited the exclusive Sabanilla Country Club in Barranquilla, Colombia today to formally arrange the WBO Golf Tournament on October 25 to officially kick off the 23rd Annual Convention to be held October 25-30 at the Hotel Caribe in Beautiful Cartagena de Indias, Colombia.

Also on hand with him WBO Ratings Chairman and International Commissioner Mr. Luis Perez, WBO Colombian representative Jose Castillo, WBO Latin Promoter of the Year Felix “Tuto” Zabala, Jr and Colombian Promoters Billy Chams and Juan Carlos Devia.

Expected to be at the tournament are former multi-division champion Oscar De La Hoya, heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, WBO featherweight champion Juanma Lopez, WBO junior featherweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez, Jr., Top Rank’s Carl Morreti, Promoter Wilfred Sauerland, Golden Boy Vice President Eric Gomez, former WBO featherweight champion and WBO Vice President for Europe Koko Kovacs and Ring Announcer Jimmy Lennon, Jr as well as other boxing celebrities.

The group had a meetings with Jorge Mendoza (Governor of Bolivar), Luis Ernesto Araujo (Executive President of the Tourist Department) and with the Hotel Caribe staff.
