Haye Angers Klitschko

« Back

Wladimir Klitschko is clearly an intelligent and respectful man. That much is regularly evident whenever he attends media functions. However, the normally mild mannered IBF heavyweight champion was clearly incensed when his June 20 title challenger David Haye arrived at a press conference in Gelsenkirchen,Germany on Thursday wearing a T-shirt with a picture of himself holding the decapitated heads of Klitschko and his brother Vitali.

Klitschko will be making a voluntary defence of his title against the young trash talking Haye at the 60,000 seat Veltins Arena on June 20 and has made it perfectly clear he will punish The 28 year-old Londoner.

"That is terrible. It’s unspeakable." Klitschko said. "I am going to give him a lesson in good behaviour. First, I wanted to knock him out in the first round. But now I want to make it a long process and I want to enjoy it, and then I will knock him out in the 12th round. I hope he doesn’t go down too early."

As one can expect the super confident Haye fully expects to chop down the 6ft 7inch Ukrainian in quick time. "I am in my prime.” Insists Haye. “I want to fight him now because otherwise he’ll be running if I keep knocking people out.

"He will realise I am the real deal. I’ve watched a lot of him and I’m not impressed – jab, jab, jab, grab. He’s been fighting people so old and out of shape they fall over after a few rounds.

"There is no chance the fight will go to 12 rounds, unless he [Klitschko] gets a chin transplant,"added Haye.

Wladimir was clearly incensed by Haye’s total disrepect for him and his older brother, Vitali, the WBC heavyweight king, but he still managed to maintain his dignity by blaming Haye’s relative youth and inexperience for getting the better of him.

"He has made himself very loud, but he is young and he still doesn’t know how to keep his emotions in check," Klitschko reasoned. "I am really looking forward to this fight. I’ve been waiting a long time."
