Two fighters from Mecklenburg return to their boxing roots.
 

The “Universum Champions Night“ comes to the Sport and Kongresshalle in Schwerin on December 19 with a world title twinbill featuring the two hometown world champions.

In the center of attention is the fight of the newly crowned WBO Interim light heavyweight world champion Jürgen Brähmer (34-2, 28 KOs), who will defend his belt for the first time which he claimed in August against stable mate Aleksy Kuziemski. Sebastian Zbik, who won the WBC Interim middleweight world title in July, Zbik will take on unbeaten Emanuele Della Rosa (22-0, 7 KOs) from Rome, Italy. Jürgen Brähmer's opponent will be named within the next days.

For both champions it is a fight in their hometown and  therefore a very special challenge. Jürgen Brähmer moved from Stralsund to Schwerin at the age of 15 and was trained from then on by Michael Timm. The Neubrandenburg born Sebastian Zbik has also trained as a junior at the Landesleistungszentrum Schwerin. In 2001 Zbik made the Abitur at the Sportgymnasium Schwerin. Nowe noth fighters will return to their boxing roots .

Jürgen Brähmer: „I’m very happy about boxing in Schwerin. For me it’s the best thing that can happen to me. To defend a world championship belt outside my front door was always my dream.“

Sebastian Zbik: „This will be the personal highlight of my career. I hope, that all my friends and relatives will be there. The hall will certainly be a bubbling cauldron with two local fighters in action. I’m very excited and will give everything in the ring!“

ZDF will televise the fight of Jürgen Brähmer live from Schwerin. Additional fights will be announced soon.
