A nerve-racking and spectacular rematch has been confirmed! Two heavyweight contender will headline another spectacular „Universum Champions Night“. Hamburg based Alexander “Sascha“ Dimitrenko and Luan Krasniqi of Rottweil will meet in a highly charged second battle for the WBO Interconti belt on November 28 at the König-Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen.
Both fighters collided nearly a year ago and now they will be facing each other once again. In November 2008 the Fritz Sdunek trained Alexander „Sascha“ Dimitrenko (29-1, 19 KOs) won this battle by a brutal liver hook in round three. For Krasniqi (30-4-1, 14 KOs), who is trained by Valentin Silaghi, it will be a direct rematch while the Hamburg based Dimitrenko was defeated on July 4th by Eddie "The Fast“ Chambers in a WBO eliminator. He wants to get back on the track with another victory over the "Lion" Krasniqi in order to get another world title shot.
At today's first press conference at the LVR-Industriemuseum in Oberhausen the situation heated up also in reference to their first encounter:
Alexander Dimitrenko: „Luan, you always speak of a lucky punch, but in boxing, and especially in our weight class, there is no luck! We have closely analyzed my defeat in July against Eddie Chambers. I will not again make the mistakes I made in the preparation and in the fight. That defeat hasn’t destroyed me and I can learn a lot from it. I’ve taken this difficult fight because up to the end I’m a boxer who doesn’t surrender. Life in boxing goes on and I’ll be even stronger, both physically and mentally in the coming fights. build-up fights, like against Luan, are what I need now!“
Luan Krasniqi: „I want to get to the top again and box for a world championship. There is nowadays only one motivation: I want to box against Sasha because this fight brings me forward again. I’ve had to have a lot of patience waiting for this rematch and now I want to prove that it was only a stroke of luck that decided the fight. It won’t happen a second time. Eddie Chambers fought the same as me in the last fight and won. There won’t be anymore lucky punches. This is absolutely my last chance, but my battery is recharged, I’m fit, I can’t lose. I’m really glad to be back in the ring, especially against Sasha! It was rude that he didn’t greet me today. Sasha, is only a little boy who can’t say ‘hello’ and whom one must teach respect!“
